Mehsana Collector Praises Initiative as a Model for Startup Ecosystem
Mehsana Collector and District Magistrate M. Nagarajan, IAS, hailed the Swaastha Accelerator Programme as a "textbook example of execution" and urged its replication across India&rsquo;s startup ecosystem. He made these remarks as the Chief Guest at Anant National University&rsquo;s inaugural Swaastha Healthcare Accelerator Demo Day.
The event, held in collaboration with India Accelerator, showcased cutting-edge healthcare and allied-domain startups from across the country, particularly those with deployed or deployment-ready solutions. Launched earlier this year, the Swaastha initiative aims to foster collaboration among visionary entrepreneurs, industry leaders, and investors to nurture innovative ideas.
Startups Pitch Groundbreaking Solutions
From 180 applications, eight startups were shortlisted to present their solutions at the Demo Day. These startups addressed critical areas, including:

&middot;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Technology-driven healthcare delivery
&middot;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Precision IVF tools
&middot;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; AI-powered rehabilitation apps
&middot;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Sleep and emotional health

Each startup pitched its solutions and financial needs to a diverse panel of 20 investors, including representatives from Piramal Pharma, India Accelerator, Cognoscent Ventures, ICICI Bank, IDFC, Shurup, angel investors, and incubation centers.
Key Investments and Partnerships
India Accelerator announced a ₹53 lakh investment in the startup Janitri. Additionally, Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed with Genesis Biotech Pvt Ltd, Helyxon, and Cosmo Ecosystem Care Pvt Ltd to support their business development and scaling efforts. Anant National University students will collaborate with these startups, contributing design expertise.
Building a Thriving Healthcare Ecosystem
The Demo Day also marked the launch of the Swaastha Healthcare Coffee Table Book, chronicling the journey and achievements of the programme. Speaking at the event, Dr. Anunaya Chaubey, Provost of Anant National University, said, &ldquo;All communities across the world need people who can solve problems and create jobs, and that is precisely what these startups represent.&rdquo;
Munish Bhatia, Co-Founder of India Accelerator, highlighted the importance of the initiative, stating, &ldquo;We are proud to have been part of this groundbreaking programme that unites academia, acceleration, and industry. By supporting these startups, we aim to create a thriving healthcare ecosystem for innovation.&rdquo;
Since its inception, the Swaastha Accelerator Programme has conducted 30 mentorship sessions with renowned industry speakers, providing need-based guidance to participating startups. The initiative has successfully built connections between startups, industry professionals, and clinical trial support to advance healthcare innovation.
