Healthtech startup Practo, once known primarily for helping users discover doctors in India, has officially launched its platform in the UAE, marking a significant step in its global expansion plans.
The company has rolled out Practo.com across Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah, allowing residents to access a wide network of verified doctors in key specialties including dermatology, gynecology, ENT, psychiatry, and dentistry.
With over 31,000 doctors and 3,000 healthcare facilities already onboarded, Practo is positioning itself as a comprehensive digital healthcare platform, aiming to bridge the gap between fragmented hospital networks in the region.
The platform currently records over 50,000 monthly active users in the UAE. Practo plans to roll out insurance compatibility data at the doctor level by the end of this month&mdash;a crucial feature in a market where insurance heavily influences access to healthcare.
&ldquo;This is just the beginning as we scale our efforts to improve healthcare outcomes worldwide,&rdquo; said Shashank ND, Co-founder &amp; CEO of Practo. He noted that the initial response in the UAE has been promising.
While Practo has previously operated in the UAE through its hospital software division, Insta by Practo&mdash;serving major institutions such as Emirates Hospital and Life Medical Center&mdash;this is the first time the company is directly engaging with consumers in the region.
The expansion follows a profitable FY24 and continued positive cash flow into FY25, reinforcing the company&rsquo;s global ambitions. Practo&rsquo;s UAE network already includes well-known providers like Sulaiman Habib Hospital, Micris Dental, Smile on Dental, and e-Kaya Skin Clinic.
&ldquo;This platform offers a more transparent way for patients to connect with trusted providers,&rdquo; said Mohammad Ahmed, Head of Marketing at Sulaiman Habib Hospital.
By enabling cross-border healthcare continuity between the Gulf and Indian markets, Practo aims to set a new benchmark in global digital healthcare&mdash;from search and discovery to treatment and post-care.
