Noida-based fuel-tech startup Nawgati has secured $2.5 million in a pre-Series A funding round, led by veteran stock market investor Ajay Upadhyaya. The round also saw participation from the Deepak Bhagnani Family Office, MeitY Startup Hub, Aamara Capital, and several notable angel investors including Sanjay Sharma (former MD, Accenture), Ashish Sharma and Prithvijit Roy (co-founders, BRIDGEi2i), and Vivek Mathur (former Partner &amp; COO, Elevation Capital).
Founded in 2019 by Vaibhav Kaushik, Aalaap Nair, and Aryan Sisodia, Nawgati aims to streamline India&rsquo;s fragmented fuel distribution ecosystem by integrating fuel stations, fleet operators, and end-users through its proprietary platform Aaveg. The platform offers real-time data on fuel availability, congestion, fleet movement, and station resource utilization, helping fuel providers and fleet managers reduce wait times, improve transparency, and meet regulatory requirements.
The company&rsquo;s fleet management solution is already operational with Mahanagar Gas and is slated for deployment with more fuel companies in the near future.
"Nawgati is solving a critical challenge in a space that touches millions every day but has seen little innovation," said lead investor Ajay Upadhyaya.
The startup, which previously raised ₹1 crore from GAIL under the PSU&rsquo;s startup initiative Pankh in January 2023, plans to utilize the latest funding to scale operations across India, enhance digital infrastructure for fleet and fuel station management, and support its global expansion ambitions.
