KRAFTON India, the Indian arm of South Korea-based gaming giant Krafton, has announced the second cohort of its India Gaming Incubator (KIGI), reaffirming its commitment to fostering homegrown game development. The new cohort features six promising studios from across India, selected for their potential to develop globally competitive games.
The initiative builds on the success of KIGI&rsquo;s inaugural batch and aims to decentralise the Indian gaming ecosystem, with participants hailing from cities like Kolkata, Madurai, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru&mdash;moving beyond traditional tech hubs.
Each selected studio will receive mentorship, technical support, and funding of up to $150,000. The incubation period spans six to twelve months, giving teams a solid runway to develop their titles. The six selected studios and their projects include:
⬤ Kleanup Games (Madurai) &ndash; CHROMADI: A retro-styled, colour-blending shoot-'em-up led by Jaiwanth Shanmugam, slated for release in 2026.
⬤ Advaita Interactive (Kolkata) &ndash; Inspectorium: A detective game set in a steampunk Victorian Calcutta, created by Judhajit Sarkar for mobile, PC, and VR.
⬤ Singular Scheme (Mumbai) &ndash; Frontier Paladin: A role-playing tower defense game set in a mythical realm.
⬤ Smash Head Studio (Bengaluru) &ndash; Cricket Rivals: A fast-paced multiplayer cricket game designed for global appeal.
⬤ Unwind Games (Hyderabad) &ndash; BaoBao&rsquo;s Journey: A calming puzzle game starring a panda, co-founded by Jayant Shukla and Khozema Abuwala.
⬤ Ginger Games (New Delhi) &ndash; Monkey Mayhem: A hybrid-casual action-adventure combining combat and storytelling, set to launch in early 2026.
The second cohort is backed by a growing network of global tech partners, including AWS, AccelByte, AppMagic, and Liftoff's GameRefinery, providing critical support such as cloud computing resources and backend infrastructure.
KRAFTON India CEO Sean Hyunil Sohn emphasized the cultural and narrative potential of Indian game developers, stating, &ldquo;Our second cohort embodies diversity and bold vision. We&rsquo;re investing in a future where Indian developers lead the global stage.&rdquo;
