In a significant development within India&rsquo;s digital payments space, Fam App by Trio (formerly FamPay) has surpassed Amazon Pay to secure the eighth spot in the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) rankings for April 2025, according to data released by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI).
Fam App processed around 10 crore UPI transactions in April, a notable increase from 9 crore in March. In comparison, Amazon Pay witnessed an 11.5% decline, with transaction volumes dropping to 9.8 crore from 11.1 crore in the previous month.
This shift highlights Fam App&rsquo;s rapid growth trajectory, driven by its focus on youth-centric financial services and innovative digital features that have resonated with younger users. The platform&rsquo;s rise reflects the growing demand for tailored fintech solutions in India&rsquo;s evolving digital economy.
Despite Fam App's growth, overall UPI transactions in April saw a slight month-on-month decline of 2.2%, totaling 17.89 billion, compared to 18.3 billion in March. However, on a year-on-year basis, UPI volumes surged by 34%, underscoring continued momentum in digital payment adoption across the country.
As Fam App continues to scale its operations and broaden its user base, its ascent in the UPI ecosystem marks a compelling narrative in India&rsquo;s dynamic fintech landscape, where emerging players continue to challenge established giants.
