Ambuja Cements, part of the Adani Group, has announced a leadership reshuffle, appointing Vinod Bahety as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) while elevating incumbent Ajay Kapur to Managing Director. The board has approved Bahety&rsquo;s appointment as Additional Director, Whole-time Director, and CEO for a three-year term, effective April 1, 2025.
Additionally, Rakesh Tiwary has been named Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Ambuja Cements, and Praveen Garg has been appointed as a Non-Executive Independent Director for three years.
In a parallel move, ACC, a subsidiary of Ambuja Cements, has appointed Bahety as its CEO and Whole-time Director, replacing Ajay Kapur, effective April 1, 2025. Bahety, currently CFO of the cement business, has over 25 years of leadership experience in manufacturing and finance. Before his current role, he served as Group Head for Mergers &amp; Acquisitions at Adani Group.
Since entering the cement sector in September 2022 through a $6.4 billion acquisition of Ambuja Cements from Swiss firm Holcim, Adani Group has aggressively expanded its presence. Competing with UltraTech Cement of the Aditya Birla Group, Adani aims to reach a manufacturing capacity of 140 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) by FY28.
The company has strengthened its portfolio with acquisitions of Penna Industries, Sanghi Industries, CK Birla Group&rsquo;s Orient Cement, and Asian Concretes and Cements through its subsidiary ACC.
