Reliance Industries Limited Chairman Mukesh Ambani on Friday unveiled a comprehensive ₹75,000 crore investment plan aimed at transforming India&rsquo;s Northeast region over the next five years. Speaking at the Rising Northeast Investors Summit, Ambani outlined a bold vision to drive development across sectors including digital connectivity, sustainability, retail, healthcare, and sports.
Commending the success of Operation Sindoor, Ambani praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and India&rsquo;s armed forces for their leadership and courage. &ldquo;It is a shining testament to his steely resolve &mdash; and to the unmatched bravery of our armed forces,&rdquo; he said.
Reliance&rsquo;s Expanding Presence in the Northeast
Ambani noted that Reliance has already invested ₹30,000 crore in the region over the last four decades. The newly announced ₹75,000 crore commitment underscores the company&rsquo;s long-term strategy and confidence in the region&rsquo;s potential.
&ldquo;This is not just an investment in business; this is an investment in the future of the Northeast,&rdquo; Ambani remarked.
Key Pillars of the Investment Plan
&nbsp;➤ Digital Connectivity: Reliance Jio will expand its network coverage &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;across the Northeast, bringing high-speed internet and improved mobile connectivity to even the most remote areas.
➤ Retail Integration: Reliance Retail will increase procurement of agricultural and handmade products from local farmers, artisans, and manufacturers, integrating the region into its national supply chain and boosting rural livelihoods.
➤ Green Energy Initiatives:
🔸 Expansion of solar power infrastructure.
🔸 Development of 350 compressed biogas (CBG) plants by converting wastelands into renewable energy production sites.
➤ Healthcare Development: Building on its 150-bed cancer hospital in Manipur, Reliance aims to strengthen medical infrastructure and wellness services throughout the Northeast.
➤ Sports and Talent Development: The company will establish Olympic training centres across the region, providing state-of-the-art coaching and facilities to nurture sports talent.
The ambitious investment blueprint is expected to generate employment, uplift local communities, and integrate the Northeast into India&rsquo;s broader growth trajectory.
