The latest round was led by Singapore&rsquo;s sovereign wealth fund GIC, with strong participation from existing investors including Iconiq Capital. The funding marks a major pre-IPO milestone for Groww as it positions itself for a public listing in the near future.
Founded in 2016 by former Flipkart executives, Groww began as a mutual fund investment platform and has since evolved into a comprehensive financial services provider. Through its mobile app, the company now offers a wide range of investment products, including stocks, ETFs, fixed deposits, sovereign gold bonds, and US equities.
At a time when many fintech firms are grappling with profitability, Groww has bucked the trend. Its focus on customer acquisition, seamless user experience, and operational efficiency has helped it more than triple its profit from the previous year &mdash; setting a rare benchmark in India&rsquo;s fintech landscape.
The company&rsquo;s user base has grown to over 50 million registered users, with a large portion hailing from Tier II and Tier III cities. This expansion highlights Groww&rsquo;s role in advancing financial inclusion across the country.
