Apple announced on Thursday that it will open its newest retail store in India at Phoenix Mall of Asia, Hebbal, on September 2. This marks Apple&rsquo;s third own retail store in the country, after Mumbai and Delhi.
Bengaluru has emerged as Apple&rsquo;s largest operational hub outside its Cupertino headquarters, underscoring the city&rsquo;s growing importance for the tech giant. The barricade for Apple Hebbal was unveiled earlier today, featuring vibrant peacock-inspired artwork symbolizing pride and celebrating the milestone opening.
&ldquo;At Apple Hebbal, customers will be able to explore Apple&rsquo;s complete product lineup, experience new features, and receive expert support from Specialists, Creatives, Geniuses, and Business teams. They will also be able to participate in free &lsquo;Today at Apple&rsquo; sessions on topics like art, storytelling, productivity, coding, and Apple Intelligence,&rdquo; the company said in a statement.
Apple has been steadily expanding its presence in India, leasing nearly one million sq. ft. of office and retail space across Bengaluru and Mumbai since 2023. In its latest deal, the company leased 268,737 sq. ft. at Embassy Zenith, Sankey Road, for office operations with a 10-year lock-in period. It also secured 11,000 sq. ft. for the Hebbal retail store earlier this year, in addition to a major lease of over 410,000 sq. ft. at Prestige Mink Square, Cubbon Road in 2023&mdash;one of the city&rsquo;s largest corporate occupancies.
The new Bengaluru store highlights Apple&rsquo;s long-term commitment to India as both a key consumption hub and a growing manufacturing base.
